Re: Came across this little chap today ....
Thanks all
Mrs Mel was made up with him , picked Bobby up around 1pm but just got back home as we had arranged to visit family .
Had him out for an hour and he is awesome with people and other dogs very friendly
Fingers crossed he is not a destuctive dog in the house with furniture . He has really taken to Mrs Mel more than me which she finds highly amusing as her dog always favored me
Food .......they have no idea what he was eating but has been eating dry / wet food 50/50 for the 2 days he was at the Kennels no idea what brand .
Just bought some pedegree vital in pouches and mixed it with some dried bakers complete food , He did exactly what Ellie used to do and ate the wet food and left the dry
The above was just a put us on purchase as we had nothing in , its not what we want to feed for life as i believe bakers is proper budget stuff and pedigree stuff not much better but the complete pouches pedigree vital pouches look like something he really likes ......

I was thinking iams or royal canin dried as a better long term diet or any other better alternatives to the pedigree pouches
If he is hungry enough i,m sure he will eat dried eventually .

I feed Google the Royal Canin dried which he likes- but he would opt for wet food if he could (or even better- cat food!).
Sounds like a great start with Bobby, congratulations

Good news all round Mel
Have a look at pero food
Found it a while back when looking for good grub for Max
I compare it to OF foods all the good stuff without the bullshit price
There cat food is brilliant also but bloody expensive when feeding 3 monstrous moggies

If a dogs sense of smell is so good, why do they need to get so close to the other dogs butt?

Re: Came across this little chap today ....
Maxi also doesn't like kibble. I feed him NatureDiet or Nature's Menu, as it is human grade contents and cooking procedures. He is 7.5kg and at about 175grams a day, the 50p a day cost is one I'm happy to pay.
I understand if you are on a budget Chappie is very good. (All wet food, I don't want to give him what he doesn't like. Spoiled yes I know!!)
He has a Dentastix every day as he's not on kibble.

Re: Came across this little chap today ....
Mel,
My nan had collies all her life while she was alive and she used dry food soaked with boiling water. She used gun dog food, Gilpa and Pascoes. Could even mix a bit of gravy up in it too to flavour it.

Nairn.....nothing to do with floor covering or oat cakes.
Re: Came across this little chap today ....
Thanks for the all info
I,m a bit worried about tonight , got a cage i can put him in with the bed we bought , put him in the kitchen on his bed no cage as nothing to destroy in there or just leave in the living room with his bed .....if we had not bought the new couch i would chose the last option .
Thinking of the Kitchen in the cage and hope he does not pine .....if he does move the cage and just the bed
Bobby does not seem arsed at the moment a mad halve hour and he has fell asleep again

Re: Came across this little chap today ....
I think I would just put his bed in the kitchen and see what happens.
This is one situation where it's handy to have a webcam you can set up to watch what they are up to on your phone while you're upstairs
