Free office down load ?

Can anyone recommend a free office down load .

Only want it for making a few pdf files i can store info on ..i think .

This is probably what you are looking for Mel. I do not use it myself, and cannot say for sure that it can generate PDFs without any add-ons, but it is in general highly regarded.

I've been using OpenOffice for years, it does everything the overpriced Microsoft crap does. You can export as PDF.

I tried Libre office but couldn't get on with at all. I couldn't work out the mail merge feature but it does have good write ups. The other free one that always got good reviews in my pc mag was Kingsoft, I think it was called.

There's a free open source alternative to most expensive software. Why would anyone buy Photoshop when Gimp is available for free?

Sorry OD ,as a photographer I don't think you can compare GIMP in the same light as photoshop. There are cheaper alternatives to PS which are very reasonably priced,in comparison, but GIMP cannot hold a candle to them. For the vast majority of photographers ps elements has all the features they are likely to need and only costs about £70 a bargain. I currently use PS CS6.

Fair enough Tony. I wasn't looking at it from the position of a pro photographer because I'm not one. Gimp has been able to do everything I've wanted to do so far.

The open office was perfect for what i needed

It was just a play to store stuff for a cut and paste will use it again next winter i had great fun
