I do pretty much the same , scrape treat if needed and check / clean all filters .

I also hose out the liner folds in spring its surprising how much waste collects in there the filter soon mops it up

Nairn ....the compact sieves are a good piece of kit but they do block on my pond and go to overflow if i dont clean daily .

I,ve seen a few mods on the sieve like a added weir plate and i,m thinking of trailing a 90 deg upward bend so it can't go to over flow as quick .....one for another topic !

Thats going to be my next addition, a compact sieve. Been watching a few on ebay and there doesnt seem to be a lot of difference price wise between new & second hand :o
water tests I do weekly anyway, will be spending half the weekend coming netting the fish and scraping to make sure there's nasties. Ive switched the uv back on (last years bulb still) but im upgrading that to a 55w in a few weeks...

Well, Spring is a busy time for me round the pond :)

In about a week it will be time to:
Take the covers off and remove the filter insulation jackets.
Do a deep clean of my aerated K1 bio chamber- this will involve taking all the media out and lifting the grid to clean below. My Pod will also get a good brush out and the media removed and replaced to make sure nothing is lurking under the K1 in the central chamber. All media will be stored wet in pond water during my cleaning so I don't damage the biofilm.
My protein skimmer needs a good strip down and clean out too.
My UV bulb will be replaced with a fresh one. Must remember to order a Philips UV bulb very soon.
I will get my retro BD and pump out for a good clean and look over. I've not been using BD air over the winter so the diaphragm will need a good scrub before I turn it on.
My fish are all due a measuring session, so the plan is to get a few of them out each week to look at and get a picture, and do a scrape while I'm at it to check for parasites. They look fine at the moment though.
I'm about to start gradually changing them from wheatgerm to their normal OF koi premium food.
I will need to keep a close eye on water tests as I increase their feeding.
My auto feeder is currently b0rked. I need to have a check some rodent hasn't gnawed the cable- it goes behind all the filters so this will be difficult to check so I've put it off until the garden is less cold and muddy for crawling around in
I'm also on the lookout for blanketweed rearing it's ugly head. Pink powder is waiting in the cupboard ....
Finally my shade sail will be back up over the pond by next week- I'm already seeing some daily pH swings even with the pond covered.
I know this is an old post but still helpful as reminder to those of us who still worry that they are not doing all they can to keep the pond in the best condition. I also have a small pond now that I am trying to run as a natural unfiltered nature pond. About to clean out some of the winter debris, thin out lilies and add oxygenators. Any top tips for that pod?
