I have a diamond in exactly the same shape, it spends most of the day swimming at the surface. It has grown 2 inches longer, but is very thin. Which is in stark contrast to its mate which has bulked up massively and spends all day lurking on the bottom looking food.

Gonna try and get a syringe aswell, went looking today but the local fish supplier was closed. Have bloodworm packs already but as mel said, wasnt interrested in it, or 2 different types of pellets. I saw it try and get a 6mm one once, but it was way too big for it. I know its been bullied a bit, but expected its natural instinct to kick in to look for food like the other one rather than escaping from it.

I,ve got my syringe at the ready ( my wife got it from the local chemist its a kids medicine one ). Its still the same endless searching for natural food and won,t touch the proper pellets .

I,m picking up a tank at the weekend it can stay in there a few hours a day so i can moniter its eating .

you could try some 2mm sturgeon pellett from od it has an appetite stimulant added to its formulation .if you can get some of that into it that might help.

The 2mm doesn't have the appetite stimulant anymore Huso, the recipe changed some time ago. Mixing with bloodworm juice should have the same effect though, especially as it seems that this daft Sterlet seems to have become fixated on insect food sources. It can be very hard to get them back onto pellets once they've stopped, or never got used to, taking them.
People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

This is what i,m worried about :|
I would put him in the qt but i,ve got two in there , one knocked its mouth and the other had a start of an ulcer underneath , i only noticed it when i netted him for a check up .
It should be empty by the end of the month as there healing well at 23-25 degs .

Once the qt is empty he can go in there and be fed pellets mixed with bloodworm etc , even if i have to blend them myself with bloodworm and shrimp and re form them .
Do you think he would feed in a ibc tank , 220 gallons ,the one i,m picking up for paul . No spare filter only an air pump but i could pump pond water in there each day and try and feed him in there .
Only other thing i can think of is one of thouse dog baths to feed him in, but i,ve got a feeling he might be to stressed to feed in a small tank ?
