I haven't but I found this...Lloyd100 wrote:Old dragon do you have any pics of diamonds bigger than that?

That's the biggest one I could find a photo of (200cm, 60kg) but they can grow to around 300cm, 100kg. The record may be 400cm but I can't verify it, none that size have been seen for a long time.
That Beluga you linked to may have been a baby but this one wasn't...

I think we may have a couple of record Stellies...

People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

Re: Sturgeon identify
The biggest pond kept Diamond that I know of is probably Mika's at 160cm. I never see them offered above around 140cm.
I don't think a Diamond will grow beyond 200cm in a pond. I have heard of privately owned Stellatus sturgeon at around 160cm in length, haven't seen them though.
Many factors are at play and many individual fish are genetically predisposed to reach an average size.
Ofcourse the record size usually gives an idea of the species' average max. size.

Re: Sturgeon identify
Here is a quick one from the kitchen window this morning, I think 1:08 is about the best view. For reference the window is 1M 20cm wide. My buest guess of size is he is between 110 and 115 at the moment, but as you can see a lot chunkier than in the fishing photo.
