Just a little warning or advice to everyone re NT Labs
Re: Just a little warning or advice to everyone re NT Labs
Morning Huso Huso. Thanks for taking the time out to reply and to try and help out, really appreciate it. So about an hour ago I got a call from our water supplier, they confirmed that there's a trace element of Ammonia in our water approximately 0.05 mgNH4/L along with Chlorine as standard, no chloramine. So I did a water test on my pond water and my tap water. As you can see in the picture below, no Ammonia in the pond water. However the tap water shows Ammonia is present. So I am happy about the pond water but I now need to ask further questions re the tap water! Definitely a slight tweak of green to the tap water samples. The pond samples were really yellow against the test card.

Okay, so I finally got to the bottom of this issue, all without any success really. So NT Labs "nothing wrong with our test kit" End of conversation and the end of my association with any of that companies products. You would have thought that they would have at least swapped over my test kit for a replacement, just to be 100% sure. No nothing! As for the shop, well at least there was some help and to be honest, I did appreciate the gesture and advice. They gave me an Aqua bomb for the filter, advice on cleaning and feeding. Mind you, they got more cash out of me as I broke the quartz cover for the UVC (OUCH) Any way looking forwards now, and learned a lot over the past weeks. I spent more money on getting things stabilised, introduction of dechlorinator via plumbed in method, more powerful air supply and of course better test kit. So one big thank you to all that have helped me on this journey. Happy pond keeping.
