I believe I've just found the caterpillar to your Privet Hawk Moth. What a large and attractive beast he is.

I had thought about it and would love to but not sure on the right environment to keep him in. I've already released him as I believe he's better off in the wild. Hopefully he will come back and see me one day in all his natural glory :D

:D He's reappeared and seems to be trying to dig himself underground. Do they hide underground before they turn into a chrysalis does anyone happen to know?
