Synonyms: Chromis afra
Origin: Africa: Rocky areas of the central and northern parts of Lake Malawi. They inhabit in the upper water, away from the substrate.
Adult size: 10cm
Lifespan: 8-12 years
Sex: Males are turquoise blue with seven lateral black bands and bright egg spos on the anal fin. Females are plain blue/grey.

Diet: Omnivore; Live, frozen, flake
Swimming level: Middle, bottom
Compatibility: Can be kept with Lake Malawi cichlids of similar or larger size.
Comments: Needs plenty of hiding places among rocks. Provide rocky formations with caves and robust vegetation. Best to keep one male with several females.
